Spirit of the Game:
Spirit of the Game is a set of principles which places the responsibility for fair play on the player. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play. Protection of these vital elements serves to eliminate unwanted conduct from the ultimate field. Such actions as taunting opposing players, dangerous aggression, belligerent intimidation, intentional infractions, or other “win-at-all-costs” behaviour are contrary to the spirit of the game and must be avoided by all players.
Summary of Spirit of the Game (SotG) in HUC:
Check out our current and past Spirit Award winners. Most spirited players (MSP’s) are selected by the captains of opposing teams. Most spirited teams are determined by a spirit score reported after every game based on 6 categories: rules knowledge, fouls, fair-mindedness, attitude, communication and inclusivity.

When registering a team or volunteering to captain a hat team, captains agree to the expectations outlined in the policy.
To help make our league more safe we ask that dangerous plays and inappropriate behaviour be reported here.
All players must take responsibility for their own actions on the field. The following guidelines have been developed to inform players of their responsibilities.
