OFSAA 2005 - Barrie

I would just like to take this opportunity to congratulate Cardinal Carter, of Aurora, on their first place finish at this years OFSAA tournament. There was a high level of skill at this years tournament, and they rose above the 24 teams emerge victorious. CONGRATULATIONS

I would also like to congratulate the Hamilton area schools that attended. The Hammer was well represented, with three schools putting in four teams. Waterdown, St Thomas More and Delta all put in great efforts. Waterdown topped the group with a 5th place finish, loosing only to Cardinal Carter in a very close game. After a tough morning, Delta got it together and won 2 of their 3 playoff games. St Thomas More also had a great day, with one team winning most spirited.

The spirit at this tournament was a fantastic representation of how Ultimate should be. Every team was having fun, disputes were kept to a minimum and the sun was shinning. I was honored to be a part of this amazing day.

I look forward to the increased popularity of Ultimate in high schools, and I encourage all the teachers out there to get involved with their schools and promote the sport.

Cheers,
Jesse Smith
